Mooncore is an internet aesthetic that draws inspiration from the moon(s) of a planet, in particular the Earth’s moon, and their relationship to the outer space around it.

So this means celestial bodies such as stars can also be found in Mooncore aesthetics.  Another way to look at it is that Mooncore is like Spacecore except with a larger focus on the moon.

You will sometimes hear Mooncore go under a few different names. They include:

This aesthetic organically came about sometime in the late 2010s. It has been popularized by Gen Z and millennials on platforms such as TikTok, Tumblr, and Pinterest.
