The pillow method is one of if not the easiest techniques for shifting to your DR.

As an experienced shifter who has tried many types of shifting methods, I can attest to this. How to use the Pillow Method for reality shifting to your DR

It is an easy method because all you need are some positive affirmations, and a pillow to make it work! You also don’t need to use visualization or have experience with meditation techniques.

So what exactly is the Pillow Method?

The Pillow Method is a manifesting and reality shifting technique that involves writing shifting affirmations on a piece of paper, putting the paper under your pillow, and reciting the affirmations in your mind as you fall asleep.

Essentially, the purpose of this method is to set your intention on paper and to keep that intention close to you in the form of a physical reminder.

Many shifters also like to combine the Pillow Method with others, such as the Raven Method or Julia Method.

Now, before I show you how to do the Pillow Method, I will briefly explain who this method is best for, and the simple things you should do to prepare.

Who the Pillow Method is best for & when to use it

We all are at different points in our shifting journey and have different reasons for wanting to shift to our desired reality.

This means that some methods like the Pillow Method may suit some of us better than more difficult methods or methods meant for specific types of shifting.

Knowing this, I decided to lay out who the Pillow Method is best for and when to use it:

  • Complete beginners also known as a “baby shifters.”
  • Mini-shifting.
  • Shifters who are still writing their script.
  • If you have trouble visualizing vividly.

Even if you don’t fall into any of these cases, there’s no harm in still trying it out. It’s a simple method, and you can see if it works for you!

Preparing to do the Pillow Method

Alright, so before we begin the steps to the Pillow Method, there are some simple prerequisites that will you increase your likelihood of reality shifting.

Some of these steps are essential, others are optional but recommended.

Choose your positive affirmations (Essential)

If you’re into manifestation and spirituality, you’ve probably heard about affirmations being used to reprogram the subconscious mind.

However, affirmations are great for shifting too! This is because they help you get into the mindset to shift, focus on your desired reality, and thereby help you shift.

One of the main parts of the Pillow Method is having a written set of positive affirmations.

I recommend starting with 2 or 3 affirmations. This way, you won’t have as much to memorize and can start using the Pillow Method right away. You can always add more affirmations down the line.

Establish your Primary Shifting Location (Essential)

Your Primary Shifting Location (PSL) is the place where you will reliably be shifting from most or all of the time.

Having one reliable place to shift is ideal because it promotes simplicity and repetition, two cornerstones for reliable shifting and developing your shifting ability.

Your PSL should fit the following requirements as closely as possible:

  • Quiet
  • Comfortable area to sit or lay
  • Private
  • Free of disturbance
  • Safe
  • Reliable access

No need to overthink this! Many shifters simply choose their bedroom.

Grab a pillow (Essential)

This is clearly the easiest and most comfy part!

Your pillow, of course, will be what you need to rest your head on, and put your written affirmations underneath.

Make sure you have a shifting script (Recommended)

While a shifting script isn’t required for the Pillow Method, a script is very important for any shifter to have.

Scripting defines the details and very nature of your desired reality. It also ensures that you will be safe there.

In case you need help with scripting, I made a shifting script guide along with free templates that you can use right now. Here is the link.

How to do the Pillow Method and shift to your DR (3-step process)

At last, you are ready to begin the Pillow Method and ideally shift to your desired reality (or waiting room). This would now be the time to head to your bedroom or PSL.

Write your shifting affirmations on a piece of paper

This step is super simple.

All you have to do is take out a piece of paper and write your shifting affirmations on them. In case you didn’t look at my full list of shifting affirmations, let me provide you with some examples you can use:

  • I am now leaving my current reality and going to my waiting room
  • I am in my waiting room
  • I know that shifting is easy for me
  • I will shift
  • I am shifting now
  • I am able to shift right now
  • I am able to shift to my desired reality
  • I can shift naturally
  • I can shift easily
  • I deserve to shift to my desired reality
  • I express gratitude for my ability to shift

If you’re a beginner or new to this method, start with about 2 or 3 affirmations or as many as you can easily memorize. You can always add more in the future.

Place your shifting affirmations under your pillow

This is a super simple yet important step to this method. It essentially tells your subconscious that, ok we’re shifting for real now!

So now that you’ve written your affirmations, take the piece of paper that they’re on and place them under your pillow.

*If you have your shifting script written down or printed out, and it’s not too bulky, you can also put it under your pillow for increased shifting power.

Meditate and affirm until you fall asleep

We are now at the final step of the Pillow Method!

Meditation is not only good for manifestation and clearing your mind, it’s good for getting in the right mood for shifting.

If it helps you, this is the time to put on subliminals, theta waves, or ASMR to help induce you into a deeply relaxed state. This is optional, though!

Alright.

Begin by lying down on your bed in a sleeping position that is comfortable for you. Just be sure to keep as still as you can. If you move a little, don’t worry about it. All that matters is that you are relaxed and focused.

Breathe in and out deeply and keep your focus on your breaths or any audio that you have on.

Once you are deeply relaxed, start saying your affirmations with deep intention and feeling behind them. This can be done out loud or in your mind, whichever you prefer. Continue doing this until you fall asleep!

If you want to incorporate visualization into the Pillow Method, here’s what to do:

When or if you feel like stopping your affirmations, start visualizing your desired reality (or waiting room) with sensory vividness and as much realism as you give your current reality.

Consider what you see, who would be there, and any scents that you would smell. Engage your senses! Do this until you go to sleep.

Finally, you now want to do what I call the shifting unification process (SUP). This is where you align yourself with your desired reality by fully feeling into its overall vibe or frequency and then entering it, no different than if you passed through a doorway or a portal.

Let SUP feel as natural to you as possible and then do it. At this point, you should also be letting go of your current reality as you put full intention into completing your shift.

To fully enter your desired reality, all you have to do now is to fall asleep.

When you wake up, you should find that you are in your desired reality, and it feels as real as your CR does!

If instead you’re still in your bedroom or PSL, but your surroundings have inexplicably changed, this is also a good sign. This means you mini-shifted, and are on your way to a full shift.

Final Thoughts: Take care of yourself (in every reality)

To wrap things up, I wanted to say a few things.

While you are in your CR, it is important to take of your responsibilities, as well as your mental and physical health, as best as you can.

For your, DR, make sure you have a safe word and script out any other safety measures for yourself.

That being said, I hope you now know how to use the Pillow Method.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should I keep my affirmations under my pillow?

You can keep them there until you shift, when you want to make changes, or ash your pillow. Ultimately, it is up to you how long you’d like.

Is the Pillow Method a manifestation technique or a shifting technique?

It is both. When it comes to manifesting, I have heard of people using this method for attracting abundance and manifesting desires.

I’ve also heard of people successfully shifting or at least getting shifting symptoms. So it seems that this is an effective method.
