I made this post with the intention of it being that last shifting method resource you need so you can start shifting for real.

There are lots of shifting methods out there. Many of them originated from shifting experts and shifting communities on apps such as Amino, Wattpad, TikTok, and Reddit.

I wanted to make sure to include the ones that have been getting people to shift and at the very least shifting symptoms.

7 Shifting hacks to know before using shifting methods

Before you choose a shifting method, you want to make sure you are prepared.

I’ve put together these six strategies to not only help you shift faster but to shift more reliably.

Consider the first three hacks more as prerequisites before you start using any method.

  • Make sure to have a script for your desired reality, especially if you are a beginner or intermediate. I made a shifting script guide if you need help with one.
  • Do your best to find a quiet, safe, and private location that you can reliably return to such as your bedroom.
  • Know your desired reality. This is done by identifying the unique frequency of your DR. Ideally, you have a script made that helps you do this
  • Utilize different things that help set the mood for you to shift, and help you capture the frequency of your Desired Reality. This can include: putting on music, listening to legitimate subliminals, or looking at photos and videos before you begin.
  • While you are trying to shift, make sure to have faith that it will work, and add sensory vividness when visualizing to make it feel real.
  • Try out different methods until you find one that works for you. Some people have noted that they have combined methods and have found shifting success.
  • Once you have found a shifting method(s) that works, stick with it. As the old saying goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. This is so true when it comes to shifting realities.

Alright! Now, let’s move on to the best reality shifting methods to go to your DR.

How to shift reality: Best reality shifting methods

 

Pillow Method

The pillow method is a shifting technique that is ideal for new and beginning shifters.

You will need to have a shifting script made for optimal results with this method. Your script can be as short as a page or as detailed as a notebook full. If you’re a beginner, I recommend keeping it short, or using a template.

For this method, your script should ideally be in written form or printed out.

Here are the steps to doing the Pillow Method:

  1. Write down shifting affirmations on a piece of paper. These affirmations can be like: “I am shifting to my DR now.” “Shifting to my DR is easy and natural for me.” “I can stay in my DR for as long as I prefer.” Try to keep the number of affirmations used under ten.
  2. Right before you go to bed, read your written affirmations out loud or to yourself five times each. Optionally, you can also do a short meditation, focusing on your affirmations and DR script.
  3. Place your written affirmations under your pillow. You can also place your written or printed script under your pillow. If that is uncomfortable, you can put your script on your nightstand.
  4. Go to sleep, visualizing your DR and reminding yourself that you are shifting as you fall asleep.

 

Raven Method

The Raven Method is one of the most popular shifting techniques. If you’ve been on any social media shifting communities such as shiftok or on Wattpad, chances are you’ve heard of it.

Many shifters and even some skeptics have claimed to have some kind of success with this method.

Before beginning this method, I recommend doing a brief meditation and clearing your mind.

Here are the steps to doing the Raven Method:

  1. Lay on your bed in a starfish position or similar. Try to keep as still as possible once you are comfortable.
  2. In your mind, slowly count from 1 to 100. In-between each number, repeat one of your shifting affirmations. My favorite one to say is “I am now shifting to my Desired Reality.”
  3. After you get to 100, start visualizing your DR, making it feel real and giving it as much sensory vividness as possible. You can also say more shifting affirmations.
  4. Fall asleep.

 

Cloneback Method 

The Cloneback Method is a method I’ve created that has worked for me several times. I had actually discovered this method before shifting really took off on social media, and the first method I used to shift!

I’m sharing this method with you because I have had success mini-shifting with it.

Though I have never tried this specific method for longer shifts or permsashifting, I could see this method working for either.

Note: Before I first did this method, I was well hydrated and ate a good meal but wasn’t full. I also had my main salt lamp turned on. I’m not sure how much of a difference these made but I thought they were relevant enough to mention.

So how do you do the Cloneback Method?

Let me explain.

  1. Lie down on your bed in a modified soldier sleeping position. To do this, you want to lie on your back, make sure your legs are straight and your hands are resting palms down on your thighs.
  2. Close your eyes and clear your mind by focusing on your breathing, bringing you into a deeply relaxed state. If you’ve ever been in the kind of state in between being awake and asleep, it’s kind of like that.
  3. Lock on to how it feels to be you in your current reality and how your current reality feels. Remember how this feels as you will need it for contrast.
  4. Next, visualize in realtime your alternate self (aka Clone) experiencing “a day in the life” scenario in your desired reality. Make sure this scenario looks as real as possible, no different than if you were observing something in real life.
  5. Feel yourself letting go of your current reality and focusing on the observation of this scenario. Notice the difference between how you feel and your current reality feels vs the feeling your Clone experiencing their desired reality feels.
  6. Now when you are ready, begin to feel yourself detach from your current self and reality, until you are simply just your consciousness.
  7. Merge with your alternate self until you are now experiencing reality from the first-person point of view of your alternate self for as long as you prefer.
  8. When you are satisfied, detach from your clone self and reattach to your current reality self.

Tea Party Method

The Tea Party Method is a unique shifting method created by an Amino App user called ☾꧁𝙰𝚣𝚊𝚣𝚎𝚕꧂.

This method invokes an interaction where you and your DR self have tea before merging together as one in your DR.

Here is how to do the Tea Party Method:

  1. (Optional) Begin a short meditation session to clear your mind. You can be sitting or lying down.
  2. Lay comfortably in your bed.
  3. Visualize you and your clone having tea at a table in a mutually agreed upon location within your DR.
  4. Converse with them about what it is like to be in your DR.
  5. As you are beginning to fall asleep, tell your clone that it’s time for you to go home, then stand up, and hug them.
  6. When you both hug, this should initiate a merging effect where you two become one consciousness, and you continue on in your DR.

 

Falling Method

The Falling Method is a newer method where you visualize yourself falling into your DR self laying in your DR bed until you merge into one.

If you read about the Tea Party Method, you’ll realize that they are quite similar from their merging effect.

Here is how to do the Falling Method:

  1. While your room is dark, lie down comfortably in your bed.
  2. Bring yourself to a calm, clear-minded state through meditation.
  3. Imagine yourself now in a dark room falling or descending from the first-person perspective.
  4. Begin to visualize descending or falling into your DR bedroom and your DR self lying down in their bed with as much sensory vividness as possible.
  5. Your descent should begin to slow down as you get closer and closer to your DR self.
  6. Reach out to your DR self for a hug and become one, feeling it as real as possible.
  7. Fall asleep.

 

Train Method

The Train Method involves riding on a train that will take you to your Desired Reality.

It’s a simple method that can be done at any place where you have an opportunity to visualize without disturbance.

  1. To begin the Train Method, sit or lay somewhere comfortable and visualize yourself sitting on a train as you are heading to your DR.
  2. Periodically check outside your passenger windows to witness scenes from your Desired Reality and repeat any shifting affirmations to help anchor this experience in reality.
  3. After you know you are in your desired reality, you can either fall asleep or open your eyes, whichever feels right.

 

Julia Method

The Julia Method is one of the more popular shifting methods that beginners or “baby shifters” can use to shift.

It involves using “I am” statements or affirmations as you meditate on your Desired Reality. Example affirmations include, “I am shifting to my DR,” “I am safe in my Desired Reality,” “I am loved,” etc.

You can add anything that you want after “I am” as long as it pertains to shifting or relates to your DR in some way.

Here is how to do the Julia Method:

  1. Lay down or sit in a comfortable position.
  2. Start clearing your mind and enter a meditative state.
  3. Begin to state your “I am” affirmations. This can be internally or externally.
  4. Visualize being in your Desired Reality with sensory vividness.
  5. Start shifting.

 

Staircase Method

Another simple method to use is called the Staircase Method. Sometimes it’s referred to as the Stair Method or 8-step Method.

It involves going up a large staircase where the top of it is an entrance to your DR.

Here’s how to do the Staircase Method:

  1. Lie down in your bedroom or another safe place where you can fall asleep.
  2. Start clearing your mind and enter a meditative state.
  3. Visualize yourself entering a beautiful room with a large staircase that leads to your DR.
  4. Begin climbing the staircase, repeating shifting-related affirmations, and letting go of your CR as you do so. Your staircase climbing can last as long as you want. Just make sure you have faith and intention as you go up.
  5. At the top of the staircase, there will be a wonderful white light portal that leads to your DR.
  6. When you are ready, enter this portal.
  7. Fall asleep with the intention to wake up in your DR.

 

Estelle Method

If you vibe well with music, this is an ideal shifting method for you.

The Estelle Method involves visualizing you and a DR person enjoying a song or playlist that reminds you of your DR to help you shift to your DR.

Here is how to do the Estelle Method:

  1. Go to a private place where you can comfortably lie down and fall asleep.
  2. Choose a song or playlist that reminds you of your DR and push play.
  3. Lie down in a sleeping position that is comfortable for you.
  4. Focus on your breathing to clear your mind.
  5. Visualize yourself in a location of your choice dancing to or enjoying the song with your DR person. This person can be a friend, partner, family member, comfort character, etc.
  6. After your song is finished let your DR person know that it’s time to go back home (to your DR).
  7. Your DR person will then show you the door or other pathway that leads to your DR. There should be a loving and embracing white light that emerges for you both to pass through.
  8. Go through white light.
  9. Feel free to open your eyes or fall asleep whichever is right.

 

ADHD Method

The ADHD Method is good if you have a hard time focusing or you want to use subliminals to help you shift.

Although this method has ADHD in it, you do not need to have ADHD to use this method.

Here is how to do the ADHD Method:

  1. Go to a private place where you can comfortably lie down and fall asleep.
  2. Grab headphones or earbuds and a device where you can listen to MP3s.
  3. Find an 8D audio track to listen to.
  4. Put your headphones or earbuds in and lie down in a comfortable position.
  5. Play your 8D audio track, setting it to repeat if necessary.
  6. Focus your attention on the audio. Optionally, you can synch your breathing and exhaling to the rotating left-to-right audio.
  7. Each time the audio rotates, it counts as 1 interval. After 5 intervals have passed, say 3 shifting affirmations. Examples are: “I am now in my desired reality,” “It feels good to be in my DR,” “I can stay in my DR for as long as it is right.”
  8. Visualize your DR, giving it as much sensory vividness as possible to make it feel real.
  9. Fall asleep.

 

Sunni Method

The Sunni Method is one of the earliest shifting methods found within the modern shifting community.

It is a simple and popular shifting method that uses affirmations and visualization to help convince your mind that you are in your Desired Reality.

I’ve found it to be quite effective for general manifesting and is similar to the State-Akin-To-Sleep method.

Here is how to do the Sunni Method for reality shifting:

  1. Lie down in a comfortable place where you can fall asleep such as your bedroom. Choose a sleeping position that is comfortable for you.
  2. After clearing your mind, visualize yourself living in a day in the life scenario as your DR self in your DR. Be sure to add as much sensory as you can to make it feel real.
  3. Begin to say your shifting affirmations and any statements of facts that would be true if you were already in your DR.
  4. Fall asleep or open your eyes. Do whichever feels right.

Easy Shifting Methods

These methods are optimal if you are either a beginner to shifting, or don’t have a lot of time and want a method that works, and is fast and easy!

Intent Method

The Intent Method is all about quickly saying one powerful intention statement about shifting to your DR right before you fall asleep. This is done for focused simplification and so that your consciousness doesn’t have time to doubt and accepts your intention.

Ideally, you’ll want to do this method when you are feeling drowsy or ready to get in bed and fall asleep.

Here is how to do the Intent Method:

Step 1. Get in a comfortable sleeping position where you can fall asleep the easiest and fastest inside your bedroom or Primary Shifting Location.

Step 2. Right before you are about to fall asleep, state out loud or in your mind a single intention or shifting affirmation with as much power and emotion as you can comfortably muster. This affirmation should have the following qualities:

  • In the now
  • Resonates with you on a deep level
  • Invokes power and emotion for you

Here are some examples to give you inspiration or to choose from: “I am shifting to my DR right now.” “I will wake up in my DR tomorrow.”   “I will fully shift thank you, God(s)/source/spirit guide(s)/higher self/higher mind, etc. (whichever you prefer).” “I am shifting now thanks to my higher mind/consciousness.”

Step 3. After stating your affirmation, say thank you (or express gratitude how you prefer) then immediately fall asleep after you state your affirmation with the intention that you will be awakening in your DR.

The 17 Seconds Method

The 17 Seconds Method is based on the manifestation technique of the same name. It involves, hearing, seeing, thinking, or feeling something DR-related for 17 seconds.

Here is how to do the 17 Seconds Method:

Step 1. Go anywhere you feel comfortable, safe, and ready to do this method.

Step 2. Pick one of the following(do your best to give full focus to whichever one you choose):

  • Visualize yourself doing anything you want in your DR for 17 seconds.
  • Listen to a song that reminds you of your DR for 17 seconds.
  • Watch videos or look at pictures that remind you of your DR for 17 seconds.
  • Grab an object in your CR that reminds you of a DR object. Then, close your eyes, feel the object, and imagine it really is an object from your DR.
  • State one affirmation for 17 seconds that affirms your intent to shift to your DR. Ex: “I am shifting to my DR right now.” Then give thanks to God, the universe, etc or feel connected to your higher self. whichever you prefer.
  • State one affirmation for 17 seconds that affirms your intention to shift to your DR. Ex: “I am shifting to my DR right now.” “I will shift to my DR after I fall asleep tonight.” Make sure to do this with as much power and emotion as you can comfortably muster or through God, the universe, etc. or feel more connected to your higher self as you do it, whichever you prefer. Then, express gratitude in a way that you prefer.

Step 3. Repeat the one you picked three more times, bringing your total to 68 seconds.

Step 4. Go about your day if it is still daytime or go to sleep if you are ready for bed, trusting that you will shift when the time is right.

Hazel Method

The Hazel method is an easy shifting method I created and it involves repeating a simple affirmation until you feel satisfied and fall asleep.

Here is how to do the Hazel Method:

Step 1. Go to your bedroom and lie down in your best position for falling asleep.

Step 2. With as much intent and emotion as you can, repeat outloud or in your mind a definitive affirmation such as, “I am shifting to my DR now,” “I am shifting to my DR and it is a part of God’s plan for me,” until you tire and don’t feel the need to say it anymore.

  • Optionally, you can create a subliminal that loops this affirmation or guided meditation that leads into this affirmation on loop.

Step 3. Fall asleep with the intent to wake up in your DR.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use more than one shifting method?

Yes! I have found that some methods are better for some types of shifts over another as well.

What about combining shifting methods?

Sure. As long as you’re not making your shifting overly complicated, then do what works for you.

Do I need a method to shift?

No. At least not technically. There have been people who have shifted without using any method.

But not using a method is akin to shooting a basketball without a practiced form. Sure, you can do it, but it’s not efficient in general.

What is the easiest shifting method?

The Pillow Method is the easiest method and is perfect for beginners. This is because all you need is a sheet of paper with affirmations, a pillow, and a comfortable place to lie down.
