These qualities are certainly what I and many others I know look for in an online job.
As we return to normal in 2023 and beyond, the demand and interest for online and remote work continues with no signs of slowing.

Build and they will come does not work in 2023. I speak from experience…learning the hard way!

To start taking online surveys and making money, it’s easy.
All you need to do is sign up with a reputable, high-paying survey website. I know just the one. It’s called SurveyJunkie.
To get started, sign up here by filling out your profile information. Be sure to check your e-mail (including spam folder) for the account activation e-mail or you can’t make money.
To participate in online focus groups, I recommend signing up for a free account on respondent.io.
Keep in mind, they tend to cater to small business owners, shoppers, creatives, home workers, marketers, salespeople, mothers or mothers-to-be, teachers, and those in the tech industry.
After signing up for an account with your Facebook, LinkedIn, or Gmail, start applying for any of the studies you feel are a great fit.

How to work as a blogger
Blogging is one of my favorite ways to make money online.
This is because of the following reasons:
- Your blog also serves as the virtual home as it links to everything. This can be your writing services, portfolio, products, and social community
- You don’t have to worry about view-killing algorithm changes, shadow-banning, account deletion, or anything like that such is the case on social media. Your blog belongs to you (and so does any revenue generated from it)
- The plethora of ways to make money (most of which is passive income): ads, sponsorships, affiliate marketing, e-commerce, course sales, freelance services, and more
- A foundation for sharing the ideas that you love and connecting with others
So what are the steps to starting a blog?
Let me show you how:
Set a clear intention for your blog
Determine what you’re writing about, who you’re writing for, and your revenue goals (monthly, yearly).
Here are some popular and profitable niches:
- Entertainment
- Personal finance
- Diet and weight loss
- Food and cooking
- DIY (Do-It-Yourself)
- Personal development and motivation
- Parenting
- Lifestyle
- Travel
Next, you want to choose a name that reflects this or at the very least is easy to remember. Try to keep your blog name between 6-14 letters.
Lay the foundation
Your blog needs to be hosted on a server, or it won’t show up on the internet. I recommend going with Hostgator. They are the host I use for Vowlenu and my other websites.

Upon choosing a hosting plan, you will need to choose your domain name. The domain name is essentially the string of text people put in to get to your blog (ex: www.vowlenu.com). Your domain name should be the same name as your blog name.
The next thing you need to do is build your blog using the free WordPress platform. Installing WordPress only takes about a minute or two, and it’s easy-to-use. You will find the WordPress installation option in your Hostgator dashboard.
Build it
Now that you have installed WordPress, you need to choose a theme. I recommend choosing a lightweight and fast theme such as Astra for optimal reader experience and SEO. To choose a theme, go to Appearance -> Themes then search for Astra or whichever theme you’d like. Click install, and you’ll be set in under a minute.
Next, let me give you a few best practices for your WordPress settings.
- Go to Settings -> Permalinks and choose “Post Name.”
- Go to Settings -> Media and increase the size of your images as desired.
After installing your theme and optimize your settings, you need to improve the functionality and versatility of your blog with essential plugins. The ones I recommend are: Updraftplus, Yoast SEO, Imagify, Wordfence, Antispam Bee, Google Analytics by MonsterInsights, WP Rocket, and WP Forms.
Start writing
Now you are all set and can begin writing your first post. All you have to do is go to the “Posts” section on your WordPress menu to start.
But before you begin writing blog posts, I highly recommend creating Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and About Me pages.
