Etymology u0026amp; Word Origins

The past in pastriate has two derivations. First, the “pa” portion represent “parent.” Second, it refers to the word “past” as in something occurring before the present time. Additionally, “ate” in pastriate represents the suffix -ate which means “quality or state of something.”
