A shifting method is a specific way, technique, or series of steps that are used to shift your consciousness from your current reality to your desired reality. Sleep methods are shifting methods that end with the person falling asleep and making up in a different reality.

Without a method, shifting realities is likely to be unreliable and random.

The purpose of a shifting method is to make reality shifting reliable and repeatable.

Sleep shifting methods in particular are ideal because they are easy and safe. I made sure to pick the best ones so that you can actually shift!

All of these methods should be done from the 1st person perspective unless otherwise specified or you prefer to do it from another perspective.

Before we dive into the methods, let me explain what you can do to prepare with some useful shifting strategies.

 

How to shift realities while sleeping: 6 hacks to ensure shifting success

I’ve put together these six hacks to not only help you shift realities while sleeping faster but more reliably.

Consider the first three more as prerequisites before you start using any method and the other three for what you do during and after.

  1. Make sure to have a script for your desired reality, especially if you are a beginner or intermediate. I made a shifting script guide if you need help with one.
  2. Establish your Primary Shifting Location. Make sure it is quiet, private, safe, is free of disturbance, has a comfortable place to sit or lay, and you have reliable access to it.
  3. Utilize different things that help set the mood for you to shift, and help you capture the frequency of your Desired Reality. This can include: putting on music, listening to legitimate subliminals, or looking at photos and videos before you begin.
  4. While you are intending to shift, make sure to have faith that it will work, and add sensory vividness when visualizing to make it feel real.
  5. Try out different sleep methods until you find one that works for you. Some people have noted that they have combined methods and have found shifting success.
  6. Once you have found a shifting method(s) that works, stick with it. As the old saying goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. This is so true when it comes to shifting realities.

10 Best sleeping methods for shifting

Pillow Method

The Pillow Method, as you can probably guess from its name, was quite literally made to be a sleeping method for reality shifting!

So what is this method exactly?

The Pillow Method involves writing shifting affirmations on a piece of paper, putting the paper under your pillow, and reciting the affirmations in your mind as you fall asleep.

For even more powerful results, you can have your written or printed shifting script ready to pair with your affirmations, but this isn’t required.

I have heard stories of shifters on TikTok and Amino who have fully shifted or at the very least have had shifting symptoms with this method. It really shows how simple shifting can be as long as you have some kind of method that works for you and you stick with it.

Here are the exact steps for doing the Pillow Method:

Step 1. Write down your shifting affirmations on a piece of paper or have them printed out. These affirmations can be like: “I am shifting to my DR now.” “Shifting to my DR is easy and natural for me.” “I can stay in my DR for as long as I prefer.” Try to keep the number of affirmations used under ten or as many as you can memorize.

Step 2. Right before you go to bed, read your written affirmations out loud or to yourself five times each. Optionally, you can do a short meditation before you do this.

Step 3. Place your written or printed affirmations under your pillow. You can also place your written or printed script under your pillow for increased shifting power. If that is uncomfortable or too bulky, you can put your script on your nightstand.

Step 4. Go to sleep while visualizing your DR or saying your affirmations, reminding yourself that you are shifting as you fall asleep.

 

Raven Method

The Raven Method utilizes the starfish position with shifting affirmations in-between number counting, as you meditate on your desired reality.

It is by far one of the most popular methods on Tik Tok, Amino, and other parts of the larger shifting community. This is because not only is it easy to do, but shifters and skeptics alike claimed to have gotten results from this method.

Here are the exact steps for doing the Raven Method:

Step 1. Go to your Primary Shifting Location or bedroom, and lay down in the starfish position. You can modify this position to make it more comfortable for you if necessary.

Step 2. In your mind, slowly count from 1 to 100. After two numbers, repeat one of your shifting affirmations. They can be simple, such as “I am shifting now.” “I am now my DR self.” So, as an example, you would mentally say “1…2…”I am shifting now….3….4….”I am now my DR self….” and so on until you get to 100.

Step 3. Once you get to 100, start visualizing your DR, making it feel real and giving it as much sensory vividness as possible. You can also say more shifting affirmations.

Step 4. Fall asleep as you continue to visualize or say your shifting affirmations.

 

Alice in Wonderland Method

The Alice in Wonderland Method involves following your comfort character or a DR person down a hole until you reach a room with a door that takes you to your DR bedroom.

I like this method to shift realities while sleeping because it is fun and imaginative! Also, if you’re looking to be with your comfort character, this is a good method to try out.

Here are the exact steps for doing the Alice in Wonderland Method:

Step 1. Go to your Primary Shifting Location or bedroom, and lay down in the starfish sleeping position. You can modify this position to make it more comfortable for you if necessary.

Step 2. Visualize yourself in an enchanted forest and sitting next to a tree.

Step 3. See your comfort character or another person from your DR suddenly run past you. Begin to follow them (just like following the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland).

Step 4. After 10-20 seconds of following them, your DR person jumps down a hole. Continue to follow them down the hole.

Step 5. As you are falling down the hole, start saying your shifting affirmations while simultaneously seeing undesirable things from your CR. Feel yourself letting those things go and seeing them disappear one by one.

Step 6. Continuing your descent, start seeing desirable things from your DR with as much detail as you can give them.

Step 7. Eventually see yourself reaching the bottom of the hole. Once you do, you will be inside a room that has a door and a table. This table will have a key on top of it that unlocks the door.

Step 8. Pick up the key and unlock the door. Once you unlock the door, your comfort character or DR person will be waiting for you. They guide you to your DR bedroom which is just a short walk away.

Step 9. Lay down in your DR bedroom and fall asleep. Ideally, when you wake up or open your eyes, you find that you have shifted realities!

 

Julia Method

The Julia Method utilizes “I am” shifting affirmations along with theta waves as you meditate on your desired reality.

Chances are if you’ve been in the social media shifting community for longer than a day or two, you’ve heard of this method. It’s one of the best methods to shift realities while sleeping and also one of the easiest to do.

Here is how to do the Julia Method:

Step 1. Grab headphones and go to your Primary Shifting Location or bedroom and lay down or sit in a comfortable position.

Step 2. Put on your theta wave audio at a peaceful volume. You can also opt for shifting subliminals instead.

Step 3. Do a brief meditation for about 10-15 minutes to clear your mind and focus.

Step 4. Begin to state your “I am” affirmations with deep feeling. Examples include: “I am shifting to my DR,” “I am safe in my Desired Reality,” “I am loved,” etc. They can be stated in your mind or out loud. It’s up to you for whichever way works.

Step 5. After you feel like stopping your affirmations, visualize your desired reality with as much sensory vividness as you can muster. Make it as real as your current reality is to you.

Step 6. Do the Shifting Unification Process which is to naturally align yourself with your DR’s unique frequency, feel into it, and enter your DR like you are passing through the door to your room.

Step 7. Fall asleep with the sense of knowingness that you have shifted.

 

Lucid Dreaming Method

The Lucid Dreaming Method involves entering your DR through a portal or gateway in your lucid dream.

I recommend this method if you already know how to lucid dream. Otherwise, you will need to learn how.

Here are three quick ways to induce lucid dreaming:

  • State affirmations to your subconscious mind to lucid dream before you go to sleep.
  • Perform reality checks in real life so that you’ll do them while you are dreaming.
  • Make a habit of writing your dreams down in a dream journal when you wake up. 

So here is how to do the Lucid Dreaming Method:

Step 1. Go to your Primary Shifting Location or bedroom and lay down or sit in a comfortable sleeping position.

Step 2. Do what you usually do to induce lucidity and fall asleep.

Step 3. Once you are in your lucid dream, make sure to ground yourself and make sure you are solidly in.

Step 4. Create an entryway that leads directly to your DR. This entryway can be a gate, door, portal, vortex, mirror, black hole, etc. Make sure your intention behind creating this entryway is that it is real and in fact leads you to your DR which is a real place.

Step 5. Go through your entryway and enjoy your DR!

 

Hug Method

The Hug Method involves visualizing yourself waking up in your DR (or Waiting room) to hug your comfort character, going to your DR or WR bed, and falling asleep.

Here is how to do the Hug Method:

Step 1. Go to your Primary Shifting Location or bedroom and lay down or sit in a comfortable sleeping position.

Step 2. Visualize yourself somewhere waking up right outside your DR home such as your porch, patio, garden, etc. Make sure this feels real and you give it as much sensory vividness as possible (Ex: feeling a gentle breeze across your face).

Step 3. Someone from your DR such as your comfort character or friend is there to greet you as you awaken.

Step 4. Have a nice talk with them, sharing what’s on your mind with each other.

Step 5. Once the conversation naturally begins to wind down, let them know that you need to rest. Then, say your goodbyes, go to your DR bedroom and lie down.

Step 6. Start saying your shifting affirmations until you gently fall asleep. When you awaken, you will have shifted to your DR or WR.

 

Intent Method

The Intent Method is all about quickly saying one intention statement about shifting to your DR right before you fall asleep. This is done so that your mind doesn’t have time to doubt or second guess your intention.

I like this method because it’s perhaps the simplest and fastest method to shift realities when sleeping! Plus, it doesn’t require visualization, multiple affirmations, audio, or any subliminals.

Here is how to do the Intent Method:

Step 1. Get in a comfortable sleeping position inside your bedroom or Primary Shifting Location.

Step 2. Right before you are about to fall asleep, state out loud or in your mind a single intention shifting affirmation with as much emotion as you can muster. Here are some examples: “I am shifting to my DR right now.” “I will wake up in my DR.”

Step 3. Immediately fall asleep after you state your affirmation with the intention that you will be awakening to your DR.

 

Staircase Method

The Staircase Method involves going up a large staircase where the top of it is an entrance to your DR. Sometimes it’s referred to as the Stair Method or 8-step Method.

Here is how to do the Staircase Method:

Step 1. Go to your Primary Shifting Location or bedroom and lay down in a comfortable sleeping position such as the soldier position.

Step 2. Start clearing your mind and enter a meditative state.

Step 3. Visualize yourself entering a beautiful room with a large staircase that leads to your DR.

Step 4. Begin climbing the staircase, repeating shifting-related affirmations, and letting go of your CR as you do so. Your staircase climbing can last as long as you want. Just make sure you have faith and intention as you go up.

Step 5. At the top of the staircase, there will be a wonderful white light portal that leads to your DR. When you are ready, enter this portal.

Step 6. Fall asleep with the intention to shift realities while sleeping and wake up in your DR.

 

Heartbeat Method

The Heartbeat Method involves listening to heartbeat or breathing audio to help you shift. This method was created by Alex 222 on Amino Apps.

Here is how to do the Heartbeat Method:

Step 1. Pick a heartbeat or breathing audio that you will listen to. Make sure it’s 20 minutes or less. You can easily find one that works for you by searching YouTube for “heartbeat audio” or “breathing sound” on YouTube.

Step 2. Go to your bedroom and lie down with your earphones on. Then, play the audio.

Step 3. Close your eyes and clear your mind.

Step 4. Visualize yourself lying on someone’s chest and being able to hear their heartbeat. This should be taking place in your DR bedroom, couch, or anywhere else you prefer, as long as there is a door inside.

Step 5. This person now gently wakes you up. Tell them, “It’s time to go home, okay?” They will nod yes, then grab your hand and lead you to the door which they open for you.

Step 6. WIthin the door, there is a bright white light. Upon passing through this light, it will take you to your DR. Together with your DR person, go through the door and feel yourself entering your DR for real.

Step 7. Fall asleep with the intention to shift realities while sleeping and wake up in your DR.

 

Elevator Method

The Elevator Method involves going up an elevator that takes you to your DR.

Here is how to do the Elevator Method:

Step 1. Lie down in your bedroom, close your eyes, and clear your mind using meditation.

Step 2. Keeping your eyes closed, visualize yourself going up an elevator after hitting the button for the top floor. As you go up, think about your DR and feel your energy levels and vibrations going up. At this point, symptoms of shifting are likely to happen!

Step 3. Upon reaching the top floor, the elevator door opens, revealing your DR bedroom. Take in the atmosphere and feel how real this is to you now.

Step 4. You will see your DR self peacefully lying down in your bed. When you are ready, begin moving your consciousness from to your DR self and fall asleep once you feel it was a success. Once you wake up, you should be in your DR!
